Kathleen Bonawandt, DVM, Diplomate ACVIM, is a board-certified internal medicine specialist at Carolina Veterinary Specialists in Huntersville.

Dr. Bonawandt practiced small animal internal medicine in metropolitan New York for four years before relocating to North Carolina. She has additional training in evidence based natural medicine, earning certification in veterinary Western herbal medicine. She takes an integrative approach to conventional veterinary medicine for pet owners interested in herbal treatments.
Dr. Bonawandt also performs current, minimally invasive techniques to treat her patients. She has taken advanced training in Interventional Radiology and Interventional Endoscopy as well as other image-guided procedures. She is a member of the Veterinary Interventional Radiology Interventional Endoscopy Society and the Veterinary Endoscopy Society. In addition, she is a member of the AVMA. She is published in the Journal of the American Animal Hospital Association and given numerous educational seminars for local practitioners, veterinary interns and residents.
