Dr. Shawnacey Donahue hails from the charming small town of Denair, nestled just outside of Turlock, CA. Her journey into veterinary medicine began with earning her bachelor’s degree at Stanislaus State University. She then took her education to the Caribbean, attending Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine—an adventure that not only deepened her medical knowledge but also allowed her to experience the thrill of scuba diving with sharks!
Dr. Donahue's story with MVSAH is one of dedication and growth. Her career here started well before she became a veterinarian. She spent two years as an animal care specialist, followed by three and a half years as a Veterinary Technician. This hands-on experience provided her with a comprehensive understanding of the industry—from the ground up. Now, she’s a cherished general practice DVM, celebrating over a year in this role and counting.
When she’s not caring for her patients, Dr. Donahue enjoys quality time with her parents and her beloved menagerie of animals. Her home is filled with love and life, shared with two horses (Jay Jay and Maggie), a cat (Esmerelda), three dogs (Keyda, Keelee, and Bella), along with a lively mix of other farm animals.
Dr. Donahue’s passion for animal care, her inspirational professional journey, and her warm, compassionate nature makes her an invaluable part of the MVSAH family.
