Bio
Dr. Kristin Woodard is a native Oregonian who grew up in Scio, Oregon. She attended Oregon State University, where she earned her bachelor's degrees in Chemistry and Biology before pursuing her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, graduating in 2016.
Dr. Woodard's love of animals began at an early age. Growing up surrounded by animals-from birds at her parents' bird store to participating in FFA, where she showed dairy cattle and bred chinchillas as an FFA project—animals have always been an important part of her life. She also spent many weekends riding horses, further developing her passion for animal care and veterinary medicine.
Although Dr. Woodard initially planned to pursue a career focused on emergency medicine and exotic animal care, she discovered that surgery is where her professional passion lies. In recent years, she has developed a particular interest in brachycephalic airway disease and improving the quality of life for brachycephalic breeds. Her personal connection to this area deepened after welcoming her French Bulldog, Kevin, into her family nearly four years ago.
Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Woodard enjoys spending time with her partner and their two children. Her household also includes three cats, two dogs, and an African Grey parrot-continuing a lifelong tradition of sharing her home with animals.
