Bio
Dr. Near is originally from New Hampshire and grew up spending time on the backside of Rockingham Park with her grandfather. Dr. Near followed her love of thoroughbred racing to complete her undergraduate degree at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs and veterinary school at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dr. Near returned to Kentucky to serve as a resident veterinarian at a prominent thoroughbred breeding farm prior to joining Bluegrass Equine Surgery. Dr. Near is an all around vet, focusing on mares, foals, lameness exams and Thoroughbred sales in Kentucky.
