Bio
Dr. Jonathan McCarthy, DVM, was born and raised in Southern California. Prior to pursuing a career in veterinary medicine, he worked as a Respiratory Therapist and served as a combat medic in the US Army.
After his military service, Dr. McCarthy earned a BS in Chemistry and began working at a veterinary clinic, where he discovered his passion for the field. He went on to earn his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George University in 2023. During his clinical year at Mississippi State, he developed a particular interest in anesthesia, pain management, and exotic animal medicine.
Dr. McCarthy currently resides in New Hampshire with his wife, two sons, and their Newfoundland, Shadow. In his spare time, he enjoys hiking and playing board games with his family.
